Future-orientated, efficient, user-friendly.

As part of its progressive real estate and parking space strategy, Munich Airport has built the P43 and P44 multi-storey car parks with 1,855 and 2,034 parking spaces respectively as a central component of its long-term parking concept. From the beginning of 2024, 3,889 parking spaces realised by Huber Parking will be available for passengers, tenants, and employees at AirSite West.

Comfort.

Intuitive navigation and a pleasant atmosphere.

A modern car park guidance system guides users directly to the parking levels with available parking spaces. The two-colour coating of the parking levels clearly demarcates lanes and parking spaces. Coloured floor markings provide intuitive orientation and guide passengers directly to the stairwells. Each of the six stairwells is glazed at the front to give a bright and friendly appearance. Colour-coordinated interior finishes, in line with the colour-coding system of all the airport’s car parks, make it easier to find your way around and create a friendly atmosphere. Each level has its own colour.

Fast parking clearance and high functionality.

Under the management of Huber Parking, P44 was built in just 13 months. The steel composite car park, which impresses with its simple but efficient structure, has two external spindle ramps with mastic asphalt surfacing. These allow for fast parking and maximum durability, while two internal full-floor ramps ensure the car park’s 24/7 functionality.

The two multi-storey car parks were built at different times. While P44 was already completed in 2021, P43 was finalised at the end of 2023. The smaller “sister car park P43” is also accessed via two spindle ramps and six staircases. Parking operations in P43 started in March 2024.

“Like its neighbour P44, P43 has been designed with functionality and integration in mind.”

Focus on safety and sustainability.

Both car parks are equipped with a comprehensive extinguishing water supply and fire alarm systems in the operational areas in order to meet the highest safety standards. The full-surface canopies offer optimum weather protection and are prepared for the installation of a photovoltaic system. In addition, 40 e-charging points are pre-equipped for future e-mobility requirements. The PV system on the roof enables e-charging with green electricity.

Long-term concepts & new standards.

Large louvre façades and corrugated perforated sheeting give the car park an attractive appearance. The white façades provide space for advertising and blend seamlessly into the overall appearance of the airport. The choice of mastic asphalt surfacing for the spindle ramps underlines the desire for the highest quality and durability. The result is a construction product that looks good and is highly functional, both inside and out.

The two multi-storey car parks P43 and P44 represent an important step in the development of Munich Airport and set new standards in terms of car park management and user-friendliness.

“The collaboration with Huber Parking was truly very cooperative and based on partnership. As a system builder, Huber Parking showed flexibility and implemented our requirements in a flexible and goal-orientated manner. The solutions were always technically and economically sound.”
