"When it comes to car park construction, you might ignorantly think that the subject matter is boring. But when you get to grips with it, you realise how much variety there is."

Particularly important to me is ...

... Finding a balance between work and leisure and leading a carefree private life.

My free time ...

... I like to spend my free time hiking and skiing. Generally with anything that keeps me fit, such as weight training, running in the countryside or going to the gym periodically.

If Huber Parking were an animal, it would be ...

... undoubtedly a dog. Huber Parking's loyalty is sometimes so strong that it could be perceived as naive. Regardless of the challenges in the corporate world, employees are always pulled along and given the feeling that they are of the utmost importance to Huber Parking and that they would never be let down.

Career

"... with an internship abroad, his career quickly developed into a remarkable success story."

Dominik began his journey at Huber Parking in 2017 with an internship abroad and from then on his career quickly developed into a remarkable success story.

With a carpentry apprenticeship in his home town of Karlsruhe as a starting point and five years of valuable practical experience in this field, he followed his passion for engineering after completing his vocational baccalaureate by taking up his studies in Koblenz. During this time, he discovered Huber Parking thanks to a fellow student who mentioned the possibility of international internships at the company. This discovery motivated him to apply for and eventually join the international division.

It was here that Dominik began a four-month internship abroad, which sparked his passion. Initially, he had imagined the internship as a one-off experience and thought that he would later explore opportunities in the construction industry, particularly in the field of general building construction. However, the unique and loyal character of Huber Parking and the diverse construction projects convinced him to stay. He joined the construction management team in 2018 and was promoted to project manager in mid-2019.

"Here, reliable work performance and special commitment are recognised and rewarded with trust from senior management, ..."

The world of car park construction, which he had initially underestimated like many outsiders, held its own opportunities. Dominik quickly discovered that there was an astonishing diversity beneath the surface. The Huber Parking portfolio extended beyond simple car park structures and often also included office buildings and attendance rooms. Moreover, the prestige associated with working on such projects was undeniable. Saying that he was going to London to work carried far more weight than mentioning the construction of a conventional building nearby. The sheer scale of the projects, their enormous dimensions and high budgets impressed Dominik.

What really sets Huber Parking apart for Dominik is the flat hierarchy: “Here, reliable work performance and special commitment are recognised and rewarded with trust from the upper management, which enables individuals to shape their roles according to their vision.” There are no rigid structures and no established processes that have been blindly followed for decades, as you might find in a large corporation. “Instead, employees have the opportunity to customise their roles and implement projects in their own personal way, while of course adhering to the required standards.”

This adaptability and individuality within the company make Huber Parking a really special place for Dominik.
