Catering to diverse mobility needs

This new build includes provisions for disabled parking, bicycle lock-ups, and e-vehicle charging stations. It is equipped with modern amenities such as public toilets, a baby changing room, and a parking attendant’s office. Two elevators ensure easy access across the five-storey structure, while CCTV and roller shutters enhance security. Beyond its practical functionality, the car park is a visual asset to the area, particularly at night. The design by Huber Parking incorporates a striking illumination scheme, with air-permeable cladding made of lasered and edged powder-coated steel panels that create a sparkling effect. Inside, a high-end LED lighting system ensures optimal visibility. Additionally, 530 m² of solar panels installed on the roof provide a significant portion of the car park’s electricity needs, underlining the project’s commitment to sustainability.

“I’m delighted that Rose Lane was recognised as best new car park at the British Parking Awards. It was a pleasure to work with our project partners NPS Group and Huber to deliver this excellent new facility to the city.”

Urban regeneration

Revitalisation of the neighbourhood

Before construction could begin, the site required the demolition of the old fish market and fire station that once stood there. The new MSCP not only addresses the immediate need for parking in the area but also serves as a catalyst for further development. Surplus office space inside the building is being leased to local businesses, contributing to the economic revitalization of the neighborhood.
